The border crossing from Greece to Bulgaria goes smoothly. For the first time I am asked to take off my helmet at passport control. It is not crowded and within minutes I am in Bulgaria.

First exchange some euros for the Bulgarian LEV and it is very easy to convert because 1 euro is about 2 LEV. I waited with refueling until I had crossed the border because here the petrol is €1.60. Yet 40 cents less than in Greece.

I drive back into the mountains and the temperature drops at least 10 degrees. Up in the mountains there is a nice camping spot with wooden barrels to spend the night, but with 15 degrees it is too cool for me there. I drive on to the valley and soon find myself in front of my campsite, which I looked up on the internet last night.

However, the excellent English-speaking owner tells me that the campsite is actually closed because the season has already ended from September 8th. But if I don't pitch my tent in sight of passers-by on the street or fishermen on the lake, it makes an exception.

What a special place again. Apart from the sound of the fishing boats and the occasional car, it is wonderfully quiet and I enjoy the warm sun. And the fast WiFi network.
