It's a rainy day today. When I leave it starts to drizzle and on the way I get showers several times. I don't put on rain gear because it is still a lovely 26 degrees and I dry up quickly.
During my break at a rest and gas station I get a message via Instagram. Another overlander has seen my motorcycle and asks for contact. When I get to my bike there is a sticker with a note on my tank bag, but while I'm reading it I'm already being addressed by Juvena, aka The Wandering Wasp.
During the preparations for my trip, I already followed several overlanders on YouTube and social media. Also The Wandering Wasp who rode her Vespa scooter from Singapore to Europe and still travels around. It's great to meet her in real life and go for a ride together!
The rain is pouring down from the sky and by the time I get to my destination and say goodbye to Juvena, my boots are waterlogged and I'm wet to the skin. I walk dripping to my hotel room where I wring everything out in the shower and hang it to dry under the air conditioning. But this meeting can't ruin my day!
