I'm already half awake and it's already light outside when I see a shadow walking past our bungalow. When I come outside I see that 3 omelettes and sachets of instant coffee have been set out on the terrace. So thoughtful! Together with the bananas from our own garden, a nice breakfast.
When we leave, the lady of the house is ready to take pictures and she tells us again how cool she thinks all this is. Our first stop is less than a kilometer away, because there is a beautiful temple there that we could not visit on arrival yesterday because we had our hands full finding this place.
On the way we pass through Khun Chear National Park. Unfortunately, the viewpoints are a bit disappointing because of the white colored sky due to the smoke, but it is wonderful to ride a motorcycle here. Beautiful roads with tight asphalt, hundreds of bends, flowering trees and shrubs, jungle and beautiful views. We can't stop and we really enjoy this wonderful ride. Rik, with only a few months of motorcycle license, is doing great and already has more experience than many other motorcyclists.
Driving into the big city of Chiang Mai is also no problem. We found our hotel quickly and the traffic was not too bad. Due to a lack of parking spaces, we can just park our motorbikes inside the lobby! Coincidentally, we are only a few hundred meters away from Hans, former resident of Roermond, motorcyclist and living in Thailand for 30 years, with whom I have been in contact throughout my journey. That evening we eat together at a local 'food court' and we visit a bar. Pim and Rik then dive into the nightlife of Chiang Mai and I go to bed tired.
