Today I drive back to the Adriatic coast and actually I think that's a shame because the interior has much more to offer. National park Sutjeska with its beautiful, huge sculptures was very high on my wish list, but after 3 days of waiting for better weather I give up. The park is a large mountain area and mountains in thunderstorms and rain do not appeal to me, because it is precisely the views that I enjoy so much.
On my way to the sun I make a stop in Mostar to visit the famous Stari Most bridge. The old center of Mostar is very beautiful, with narrow alleys, stairs and many, many tourists.
On the bridge, local daredevils are ready to dive off, but they won't jump until there's enough money in his buddy's circling cap. In the 1.5 hours that I am there, there is no jumping, but they are continuously on the edge to be photographed.
From Mostar there are again beautiful roads through beautiful landscapes. The only disappointing thing is the enormous amount of waste everywhere. On the roadsides, along the roads and even in remote places in nature.; everywhere, everything is thrown out of the car or tipped backwards into an abyss or abandoned building.
Fortunately, this is less the case in Montenegro. After the border crossing, on top of a mountain pass, the landscape strongly reminds me of Switzerland. Rugged mountains and beautiful lakes, surrounded by nice harbors and charming villages. It's so beautiful here, too!
The dark clouds and thunderstorms from which I fled Herzegovina just failed to get hold of me and after a long, warm day I arrive at the campsite at the end of a peninsula.
Truly a beautiful place. And they know that too, because this overnight stay costs 2.5 times that in the hostel. But I won't look any further...
