A heat wave will push the temperature up to around 40 degrees this week. But I didn't come to Cambodia to lie by the pool all day, so I decide to travel light for a few days. I leave my motorcycle gear and some luggage at the hotel and in jeans and a longsleeve I go out for a few days. The roads between the few larger cities in Cambodia are asphalt, but everything in between is unpaved. Since there is a chance of rain every day, turning the dirt roads into mud pits and slides, I map out a lap of about 400 km on paved roads.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last 15 km of today is still unpaved road and ends at a resort in the middle of nowhere. A piece of land of several hectares with beautiful houses, ponds, picnic areas and paths where children drive around with electric go-carts. It is most comparable to Center Parcs. There are many Thai and Cambodian day trippers. The receptionist tells me that I am the first white tourist ever to spend a night here! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening it is not busy anymore and of the many houses only 3 are occupied. Each cottage has its own picnic area on a pond and an employee is ready to take any order that is then delivered by golf cart. So posh!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
