Mensen lijken een soort donkere versie van Chinezen, auto\u2019s en vrachtwagens zijn van Chinese makelij en alle uithangborden en reclames zijn tweetalig: in Lao en Chinees. Hier en daar zie ik zelfs de communistische rode vlag hangen.\u00a0Mijn overnachtingsplek is maar 19 km van de Chinese grens verwijderd, dus dat is misschien ook niet zo gek.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geen idee hoe de wegen in China zijn, maar hier zijn ze beroerd. Om de paar honderd meter gravel of kapotgereden asfalt. Qua lunch hou ik het hier toch maar even op enkele voorverpakte muffins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De volgende dag wordt het niet veel beter qua wegen maar de omgeving is en blijft wel echt prachtig. Als ik in de middag de Thaise grens nader en de bergen achter me laat loopt de temperatuur alweer snel op van 31 naar 37 graden.
