Awakened by the jungle sounds around our log cabin, we set off early again. Today we will reach the coast and all three of us are looking forward to it again.
We are already well on our way when we stop at a nice open-air restaurant for a late breakfast. It is located in the middle of nowhere and feels like we are at a couple's home. The friendly owners pull out all the stops for their only customers. While we wait for the Pad Thai (rice noodles with vegetables and peanut grit) to be ready, we are served different types of fruit from our own garden. Delicious!
The second break we enjoy a refreshing smoothie in the shade under a 'Giant Monkey Tree'. Whether it's coffee, tea, soft drinks or fruit juice; throughout Thailand, all drinks can be ordered as 'iced'. Large cups that are filled more than half with ice, after which the ordered is added. Guaranteed refreshing.
Early in the afternoon we arrive in Cha-am, a coastal town frequented by many Thai tourists. Our hotel is less than 100 meters from the beach, so check in first and then take a dip in the lukewarm sea water.
