Noodles and donuts

By ivo

The days are getting a bit warmer, April is the hottest month in Thailand, which makes us decide to leave early. We are heading towards the coast but the route is too long to drive in one go. We drive most of the day so that we can dive into the sea early tomorrow afternoon.

When we are on our way again, a huge ark with dragon heads and a gigantic statue of a monk suddenly looms in the landscape. The ark is a large building that can be entered without shoes. Apart from many murals of proverbs, there is little to see in it. The function of the structure is therefore not clear to us.

Our overnight stay is a log cabin on a site that has been renamed a 'resort' in a hamlet called Ban Kha. There are no dining options in the vicinity, but luckily there is a shop and we have a kettle in the cabin. Since we have had a good meal 3 times a day in the last few days, we don't think it's a problem that we now have to limit ourselves to noodles and donuts.
